• Overhang →

  Blocks extending above empty space. An overhang can enable a spin or tuck, but also blocks a straight drop. Always check how the required piece will actually enter.

• Downstacking →

  Clearing down through an existing stack or garbage to reach lower gaps. Look at the gap below your next clear and avoid covering it with blocks that survive the clear.

• Well →

  An intentionally open vertical channel for clearing lines, often with an I. Keep its entry accessible. Some older writing also uses well to mean the entire playfield.
