Spike →
A large amount of attack delivered over a short period, often by chaining strong clears. Timing it when the opponent cannot cancel or downstack can matter as much as its size.
Cancellation →
Using generated attack to reduce pending incoming garbage before it enters your board. Any remaining attack may be sent onward. Exact timing and cancellation rules depend on the game.
