What you build after the current setup or opener. Read the remaining board and queue rather than assuming a memorized continuation is always available.

Opener →
A planned construction for the beginning of a game, usually on an empty board. Pick one that fits the starting queue and rules, and know how to leave it if incoming garbage disrupts the plan.
Transition →
Moving from an opener or repeating pattern into another style as the board, queue or garbage changes. A clean exit can be more valuable than forcing one more cycle of a broken setup.
